Description
The goal of the Kindergarten Early Childhood Specialists is to provide early intervention for the highest need kindergarten students using research-based practices in a collaborative intervention model to enable every student to achieve grade level literacy standards. Specialists provide daily supplemental small group reading intervention with the lowest performing kindergarten students through a collaborative intervention model with the classroom teacher. There are a maximum of three students in a group. The kindergarten teachers provide one to two sessions a day of small group instruction and the specialists provide an additional session in the classroom with a focus on practices proven to be successful with young learners.
